Expected publication August 2021 by New Degree Press.
This is the story of a girl who chooses to be a hero. The Rebellion's Daughter is a YA dystopia about courage and coming of age in a world where nothing is as simple as it seems. I first started writing The Rebellion's Daughter when I was 14 years old. I did it because in all the books I read, the hero was always someone who was chosen, who was the subject of a prophecy, or was born to royalty, and that was infuriating. Because these aren't really things that happen to people in real life (as far as I know) and I, more than anything, wanted to be a hero, someone that mattered. I say started writing, because I never finished. I hit my 50,000 word quota for NaNoWriMo 2014, took a break from writing, and left that manuscript to rot (metaphorically) on my laptop. I always intended to finish it, only I never did, because I was busy or tired or [insert poor excuse here]. So when I learned about the Book Creators program, I had to apply. Because this time is the time that I finish telling Scylla's story (probably). I have an incredible community of fellow authors supporting me through this journey. I'm creating content and getting feedback from my editor. I also have way too much time because, well, COVID, and at this point, I'm basically just a hermit who lives with her laptop and avoids human interaction as much as possible.
